South Shore Folk Music Club

South Shore Folk Music Club
Hi.
This is a important piece of information, so listen up!!!!!!!!
Yesterday (March 6, 2012) my sister and I entered a contest for singing. We both had to sing a ballad, which is a song that is about 100 years old or older and that tells a story. We did the song ''The Gypsy Rover'' which is about a royal girl who  falls in love with a gypsy. My sister and I sang it as a partnership, and we got 1st place, so we got $100. It takes a lot of work, because if you're not prepared, that can lower you're chance of winning a prize. But even if you don't get the prize, you would still get $25 for participation and all you're hard work. If you know any young kids that would be interested in doing this, please go to the South Shore Music Club at the Beal house, Rte 106, Kingston, MA. Here is some more information-
The contest Organizers: Karen Haffner and Lynn Feingold
The judges: Joseph Beals, George Cronin, Jeanne Ryer
Categories:
Solo Performer (No Instrument) - $50
Solo Performer with instrument - $50
Group, No Instruments - $100
Group With Instrument(s) - $10
Sincerely,
Sita McGuire
